The National Symphony Orchestra at the National Institute of Health
goddi replied to goddi's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Greetings Rosy, It was not until after the performance did I notice a sign saying something like 'no audio or video recording are allowed'. Not sure if it was for the performance or because it was in a medical building. But everyone, of course, had their phones out taking pictures. When I posted the show on my Facebook page, I got a 'ding' for their first selection. It was the Mozart 'Allegro from Eine kleine Nachtmusik', as a copyright infringement. I checked it out and it is on the YouTube Audio Library 'free to use, no attribution required'!!! Wonder what's up with that. I took it out just to make it shorter, anyway. Thanks for watching it. Igor, From a user standpoint, I'd like to indicate which version I want to buy on the billing page, for example, before I submit the payment:
-
Greetings, All that is good info, but if you are brand new to the PTE site, it is not clear. You have to look at it from a standpoint of someone who has never purchased PTE before. We agree to disagree. Gary
-
Jill, I understand that now. But if you are new to PTE, the way it is shown on the 'Buy Now' page is not really clear. It can be presented in a better way. If I were new and wanting to purchase the program, I would hesitate a bit when I put in my purchase info but have not been able to select the Win Pro version or the Mac Pro version prior to hitting the 'Submit' key. The Billing Information page only shows 'PTE AV Studio 10.5 Pro'. They should add something like, ' Choose Win Pro version or Mac Pro version after you Submit Order', so you know that you will be able to make that selection for which version you want. This does not affect me but I think it can just be made more clear. I know it would bother me if I had to go through this process as a new purchaser. Gary

Greetings, Thanks. I am already a long-time user. But if I were going to purchase PTE Pro version for the first time, I think it is a bit confusing. I think it would be clearer if it stated: "For Windows or Mac", or have the 'Buy Now' link specifically for each Pro version, Win and Mac. And, when you go to the 'Buy Now' page, you put in all the purchase info, but it does not ask which version you are getting, Win or Mac, before you click on 'Submit Order'. Perhaps it is one file for both, and you chose which one at installation? Just confusing at this point. Maybe it is only me? Just trying to help my friend understand the purchasing steps. Later, on the 'Download' page, it does not indicate if it is the Pro version or not. Gary

Greetings, I am confused a bit about the pricing. I am trying to convince a friend to try the program who uses the Mac. The PTE site says 'For Windows and Mac. Pro versions includes advanced features', for $149. This is probably a silly question but should I interpret it as 'Windows Pro or Mac Pro' versions? The $149 Pro version is only a Win version or a Mac version? It is not one version that does both, Win and Mac? Gary

Greetings, I ran the instructions through Google translate. You can copy/paste them into the Style's text. Pretty neat Style... 22 photos 3x4 You can choose photographs with loved ones, relatives. In the center of the photo. Paste on timeline, apply style Mirror photos on the left page in Photoshop or another program. If text or other reason is present. Figures on the left page 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22 Rotate the book on its axis from 1 slide. A book with photographs has a transition time of 0.5 seconds. A book with photographs does not rotate on its axis. Gary

I've been slooooowly digitizing my old slide collection. Had to take a brake and actually make a show out of some of them. ======================= LUNCHING WITH THE MOUNTAIN GORILLAS This trip was made in 1983, before Dian Fossey was murdered in 1985 and before the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Rwanda has returned to its once beautiful country and, due to conservation efforts, to an increase in its gorilla population, after civil conflict, poaching and an encroaching human population. Gary

Greetings, I believe if you use 'Change Image File', be in the 'Slides', not the 'Timeline' and you should not have any problem replacing an image. Gary
-
Greetings Rosy, I gave this a try. But all I see is that the text get fuzzier (less sharp). Does not seem to affect the 'flow'. I tried '500' to exaggerate the effect and it just get very fuzzy. Does this really affect the 'flow'? Gary

Congratulations on the issue of Release Candidate
goddi replied to macian's topic in General Discussion
Maybe I am mistaken, but the first Windows 'Release Candidate' 10.5 says 'Release Candidate under the Help icon. This 'Release Candidate 2' does not indicate that it is a 'Release Candidate'. So just wondering why. Gary -

Greetings, I can not find how to Add my Display Source. It is showing my web cam but I don't see 'Display' anywhere in the menus. Can you point it out? Thanks... Gary
-
Thanks, Dave. I had looked and looked, but could not find it. Gary

Ok...I'm confused. I see there is a 'MAC 10.5 beta 28' version. The last Windows beta version I see is '10.15,beta 24, build 1'. But you say your question is for the 'Windows version, 10.5 beta 28'. Can someone point me to a newer Windows version...if there is one? Gary
-
Greetings, When posting comments about the different versions, Windows vs Mac, please indicate which version you are posting about. It seems this is about the Mac version but it is not clear since there is a Windows version 10.5, also. Thanks... Gary
-
Yep...I know that. Not the same... Gary

Davegee, I understand your logic, but others aren't following it. Such as Stranger's Styles have gone automatically to his folder, as others have. It would just be nice if there was a notice where they are going before they automatically go into a folder that you really don't know where it went and then you have to search for it, folder by folder. And, I'd like to put my favorite Styles into a 'Favourites' folder but I don't think you can easily duplicate a Styles (copy/paste) into another folder. Gary
-
Why would I expect your Style to go to a Temporary folder when you are the author? Why not warn me first where it is going so I know where to look? I understand a bit about Styles but I think it the functions within the Styles can be improved. Gary
-
Greetings, I now have 3 'Carousel' Styles (Carousel 9, Carousel 8 and Carousel2). I just downloaded DaveGee's Carousel 8. It did not go to his folder but went automatically to the 'Temporary' folder. DaveGee's folder already had the 'Carousel2'. I also have a 'Carousel 9' in the 'User styles' but its author indicates it is DaveGee. Not sure why it was placed in the 'Users styles'. So I will move it to join the others in DaveGee's folder. So my suggestion is to be able to have more control over where the Styles go and how to find them. When a Style is imported, it goes wherever it goes. And finding it is a hunting job. When a Style is imported, it would be helpful if a dropdown list of the folders you already have appeared and you can accept the predesignated folder or change it to one of your choice. Also it would be nice to be able to do a Search of the Style names to help find what you are looking for. And, it would be helpful to be able to copy/paste a Style into a folder if you want to keep special styles (duplicates) together that you use more often. I know there are probably workarounds for some of these suggestions. Gary

Greetings Maureen, When you take us on such beautiful journeys, I wish you would indicate where the images were taken. One day when we can travel again, it gives us at least some hope of seeing it in person. Gary

Digitizing Slides with a Kodak Slide Projector
goddi replied to goddi's topic in Equipment & Software
Greetings, I finally finished putting together the setup for digitizing my slides. Not the most elegant setup but it is functional and inexpensive (except for the Sigma 105mm macro lens). Takes about 6 or so seconds per slide to manually take the image and rotate the carousel, both using wired triggers to avoid vibrations. At this point, I've process 9 carousels, with at least 40 more to go, plus hundreds of yellow boxes and slide sleeves. Gary
