  1. Jose, Have you tried: Open Old Project - copy slide. Open New Project - Paste Slide It works between V7.5.10 and V8. DG
  2. Peter, You seem to be right. DG
  3. Hi Denis, You probably will not like my method/workaround?B)/> 1. Backup the style that you want to rename by EXPORTING it. 2. Apply the style to an image or images. 3. DELETE the Style. 4. Create (recreate) the Style from the applied style. You can rename it and it will accept the new name - there is nothing there to overwrite. DG
  4. ARTY BORDER renamed to Arty Border: Arty Border.ptestyle DG
  5. Can you please post the style? DG
  6. In that case it is probably Grisman on Mandolin - but I did not recognise it. At first I thought it was Evans on a D41/42. Thanks, DG
  7. Anthony, Mute the video and add it as an Audio Track? You can then adjust its volume. Go to Project Options / Audio / Add Audio Where it says Audio Files (bottom right) - change that to - Video Files. Find your video and add it. If necessary you can use OFFSET to line it up with the precise beginning of the video. You can then use all of the envelope controls as if it were Audio. DG
  8. Great Lin!! You forgot to credit the music? DG
  9. If you apply a style you can then CREATE a style from it? You can then give it a different or variant name. DG
  10. Exactly. If you do not use it ignore it! DG
  11. If it were not in settings then the original concept of adding a video in FSD would not exist? DG
  12. If you go to YT and are logged in you can upload an mp4 from there. Make suitable mp4 in pte and upload that way? DG
  13. If Igor can do it I would endorse that! At present it is assuming that you KNOW that you set KFSD on or off. In the example you quoted you had two transitions each of 3 seconds - that left no time in the FSD for anything else. DG
  14. Andre, The correct way to add slides is either drag and drop into the slide line or select in the file list and use the right mouse click. The timeline does not give you a good result. You drag audio into the timeline. DG
  15. [in accordance with all the discussions that have taken place here on the forum, the combined effect of those two values is that each slide, by default, will have a Full Slide Duration of 9 seconds = its own slide duration plus the transition duration of the next slide, if that next slide exists] Another misconception - FSD is FSD whether the next slide exists or not. If and when the next slide exists - then its transition time becomes part of the FSD of the slide in question. Try it with zero transition times?? And set 9 seconds FSD (with preferences = KFSD and Show FSD). DG
  16. No, because you have chosen your Preferences for KFSD and Show FSD the figure that you enter in Project Option IS the FSD - in your case 6 seconds. This is why, in the timeline for that example it is all transition and no duration. If you choose KFSD and Show FSD you don't have to calculate - WYSIWYG. DG
  17. You're welcome!! That's what I said. I completely and 100% utterly agree but the CHOICE is there and I wouldn't like to see it taken away just because somebody doesn't use it? The discussion at this time is not about KFSD. It is about FSD as applied to Styles. Two different things. DG
  18. Bottom left corner in the Video- Builder section. Untick "Create Menu". DG
  19. Here's an example to try. I have a slide which is 2 seconds transition and 5 seconds duration which is followed by a slide of the same timings. The Full Slide Duration of the above example is 7 seconds. Check it out in the Timeline. I want to apply the Pan Up Style which has an FSD of 12 seconds. Check it out in the Style Window. Two ways forward: 1. Adjust the time of the Style (before applying it) to 7 seconds FSD. The result of this is that the style will "Play Faster" and the applied transition time will be shorter - 1.167 seconds. Adjust the transition time to 2 seconds. 2. Alternatively, apply the style and get what the author intended - a 12 second FSD style slide with a 2 second transition. The slide duration can then be adjusted to your original 5 seconds duration (7 seconds FSD). DG
  20. A long, long time ago (pre-KFSD) someone added a video clip to a project and found that it ended abruptly at the beginning of the following slide's transition. This was not what he had originally envisaged so he adjusted the duration of the slide containing the video clip so that it continued on through the following slide's transition and faded out whilst still "running". All was well. A little later on he decided that the video clip was not in the correct place and decided to move it to a different place in the project. Now, the transition time of the slide following the video clip in its new position was different to the original following slide so that the end result was that the video clip once again was not running for the full length of its following slide's transition time. He percieved this to be a "bug" and asked Igor for two things: 1. That when a video clip was added to a Project, its full duration would span its own transition time and the transition time of its following slide. 2. That when a slide containing a video clip spanning two transitions was moved to a new position its full duration could be KEPT without having to make any adjustments. Igor's answer was the feature known as KEEP FULL SLIDE DURATION. It does what it says on the tin./> Those who wanted their video clips to end at the beginning of the next slides transition could use the original slide duration concept and those who wanted the "overlapping transitions" could use the KFSD concept. It means that you could move a slide from position A to position B and maintain all of its properties, Video, Key Frames etc without having to adjust for differences in Transition Times. Its Full Slide Duration would be KEPT. DG P.S. I was not that someone.
  21. Further to the above, by entering your required duration before applying the style you can make it fit your existing project. However, by doing this the whole of the style (both transition and full slide duration) is adjusted proportionally. The alternative is to apply the style at its default duration and adjust (if necessary) the individual transition time and full duration afterwards. DG
  22. Hi Lin, Just pointing out that had it been me I would have known if you had replied to me in a new post (by e-mail) but I would not have been informed that you put that note there./> DG
  23. In the figure below showing the Slide Styles Window you can see that there are some Slide Durations which will tell you what to expect. In this case it is telling the user that the style, when applied, will have a Full Slide Duration of 7 seconds. If it is applied to a slide with a 2 second transition and the following slide is also 2 seconds transition it will result in a slide which has a 2 / 3 / 2 configuration - 7 seconds. Depending on your preferences the Slide Icon will show Transition = 2 and Duration = 5 (or Transition = 2 and Duration = 7). Regardless of any other settings Styles are calculated in Full Slide Duration - this means both transitions. DG
  24. Sorry for the delay - Christmas Shopping!! Here's what I get with KFSD OFF and Show FSD OFF: Here's what I get with KFSD ON and Show FSD ON: Explanation: If there is a BUG or a PROBLEM in there it is being caused by Switching back and forth between KFSD and Non-KFSD during a project. I have said all along - if you start off in either mode - leave it there - switching back and forth is not advised!! P.S. I make no excuses to anyone for the abbreviations - anyone wanting an explanation can ask or search for KFSD. DG
