Wrong slide duration with unprivileged user
davegee replied to gaaned92's topic in General Discussion
Hi Lin, Modifying a post in that way does not "flag up" that a reply has been posted? Would it not be better to reply in a new post? DG -
Ken, You are probably aware of the SPEED control which allows you to specify the Style time equal to the time of the slide(s) you are applying it to? DG

Wrong slide duration with unprivileged user

Check that you have the Settings / Preferences / Project setting for "Keep Full Slide Duration" the same in both versions. Also the setting for "Show Full Slide Duration" should be the same. DG -
Terry, Try Styles out on a BLANK/NEW project to get some idea of how they work. Trying them on an existing project is not the way to go until you are happy about them and how they work. Applying a style will overwrite any existing animations in the slide that you are applying it to. DG

Denis, Non-Indexed images can be included in the Style. DG
-
You might get close with individual objects (.png files) zoomed differentially. DG

Since the style has already been applied it is no longer necessary to include it in the ZIP. If you want to include it just drop the exported version on top of the ZIP in Windows Explorer and the recipient has it for future use. OR, create a Template, add the Style to the Template and ZIP that. DG

Hi Igor, I have a custom transition which has multiple copies of Slide1 over a single copy of Slide2. I want to reverse that and have the same animation in reverse but this time have multiple copies of Slide 2 over a single copy of Slide1. If I was working in O&A I could go to Properties and change the PICTURE for Slide 1 to Slide2 and vice versa. I don't appear to be able to do that in Custom Transitions - or have I missed something? I don't want to have to completely rebuild something to reverse the order of Slide1 and Slide 2. DG

Igor, Is there an easy way to change 20+ copies of Slide1 in the Editor of Custom Transition Effects to Slide2 and maintain the programmed animations? DG
-
Igor mentioned it right from Day 1 but I haven't really tried it with a CUSTOM Transition. DG

This Style combines a Custom Transition (CT) and a Style. The Custom Transition is the Slices CT posted in the Transitions section and combines it with a gentle Zoom In. Just a Technical Excercise to prove that it works OK. Transition Duration is 2 seconds and Full Slide Duration is 8 Seconds. Apply to single or multiple slides or Video Clips. As usual if you place an additional slide or Video Clip after the Style Slide(s) with a 2 second Transition Time you'll get the expected result. If you adjust the Speed when applying the Style the Full Duration and Transition Time will be adjusted proportionally. To adjust these independently do it after applying the Style. This Custom Transition "assembles" a 16:9 image from 100 Slices or Tiles. Works with Video Clips or Still Images. DaveGee 100 Slices.ptef DG

Put your object on the edge of a frame and rotate the frame? The frame can also be rotated according to the X and Y axes in 3D Parameters. DG

Tom, That Metadata bar is cool - good idea. DG

Hi Tom, Any images that are NOT indexed will be included in the style and will not be required to be provided when applying the style. However the effect is that the size of the style (Kb) is increased so that needs to be watched. Just (VERY ACCURATELY) knock off the corners of the frame bars at 45 degrees and save as .png files - you only need two. Stroking is advisable otherwise you might not see the actual mitre joint. DG

I can only repeat what has been said above. A superb effort from Igor and the team. It's been a long and eventful Beta Testing and your R & R will be well deserved! Thanks Igor and team. DG

Hi Jack, After re-sizing what would PTE then do with the images? Are you suggesting that PTE would overwrite the originals or create resized copies to use? They have to exist somewhere? I suppose that theoretically Igor could build a module of the old PIXBUILDER into PTE to deal with it - but would he want to? DG

Lin, My MUSIC PC is probably 8-10 years old - going strong and has NEVER had its Windows XP Media Centre Edition OS updated. It has always been off-line. NX2 required that Frame Thingy be updated once or twice when it was being used for Imaging, but that was easy using a USB device as was updating NX2. If required, I could go back to it at any time for Imaging and it has the latest versions necessary for NX2 (and my D600) and PTE. I always figured that if it was running smoothly when it arrived at my workstation and I didn't abuse it by constantly updating it why fix what wasn't broken? I always used MACRIUM REFLECT to make backup images of C Drive but never had to use them. I always used PERFECT DISC to keep it defragged and running smoothly. It will be interesting to see how long it goes on for. Go with it, DG
