Xaver, Thanks for the confirmation! It seems that AVI file has soundtrack (silence) if project has no audio. Should we fix it?

Hello Paul, I apologize for this problem! 1. Do I understand rightly that you successfully installed the program (picturestoexe-setup.exe installation file), but you can not run PicturesToExe by double clicking on its icon ("PicturesToExe Deluxe") on the desktop? 3. Try to restart Windows. 3. Please re-download PicturesToExe again from our website and install. 4. If it doesn't help, update drivers for your video card from Windows Update center to download & install manually new drivers from NVIDIA/AMD/Intel website (depending on vendor of the video card). And try again to run PicturesToExe.

Xaver, Also I'll fix this problem for AVI video output. This problem exists only in v7.5. In previous v7.0 AVI video output didn't have this problem.
-
Xaver, Strange problem. I installed XVID official codec, but I can't create AVI file with external XVID coder - video file doesn't play. I'll try with VirtualDub tomorrow. Please can you check up with external AVI coder in previous v7.0? To compare result. Just only one test.
-
Xaver, I confirm problem with created MPEG4 video file in AVI format (built-in coder).
-
Xaver, I'll check up at home with my digital projector Epson TW2000. It allows to precisely measure black level and see even slight difference. Several years ago I tested H.264 video output and DVD output for correct black level on screen. I'll do same test for MPEG4 videos.

Positioning when using Fullscreen mode of Slides view [SOLVED]
Igor replied to fh1805's topic in General Discussion
Hello Peter, Thanks, I confirm this defect. I just checked up - PicturesToExe will remember this setting if you return to normal view and then close PicturesToExe. But I agree - it's also a bug. P.S. This part of PicturesToExe was completely rewritten in version 7.5. A lot of new code. -
Jose, 1. The idea is really interesting, but I can't answer now. Please create a new topic for image stabilization in "Ideas and suggestions for next versions". 2. Audio code is AC3, 256 kbit. 3. For video we use "Quality" parameter which PicturesToExe calculates to bitrate taking in attention width & height of video. When you save JPEG images you also use "Quality" paramter. With same "Quality" value you get different file size of JPEG for large and small images. You can use video editor to convert video to MPEG4 video file for best playback in PicturesToExe. When you include video file to EXE file, PicturesToExe does not convert anymore source video file. We add all effects, 3D, mixing with still images on the fly in real time.

Geoff, We finally reproduced this problem on one of our PCs! Thanks for sample EXE files! We're working on the solution right now. Thanks again!
-
Judy, Please click "More info" link on the SmartScreen. Then you will able to run a slideshow. This situation occurs if you download EXE show from Internet in Windows 8. If you run EXE from USB drive - no problem. Or create EXE and run on same PC - no warnings. In version 7.5 we suggest a new output option "Safe executable file for Internet". The EXE comes with a digital signature of WnSoft and SmartScreen warning does not appear.

Geoff, Yes, please can you check up memory usage for this AV show?
-
Geoff, Ok, I'll run these shows on several computers tomorrow. Our office doesn't work today yet.
-
Geoff, Thanks, I've downloaded both ZIP archives. Please tell me - did you see the error message when you click to run AV show? Or this error occured later? Should I watch completely AV show?
-
Dave, Lin, Thanks! I'll post samples here.

Please do an experiment: 1. Copy to your portable HDD a new EXE file with a show and connect it to another laptop. 2. Try to run this EXE file from Windows Explorer directly from portable drive. How it will work? 3. Close the show, and run again from portable HDD drive. Compare results. 4. Then copy the EXE file to laptop and run again from laptop. Please try with another EXE file to compare results. In all cases please use Windows Explorer to launch EXE slideshow.

Jose, I'm very impressed that, as you wrote, PicturesToExe provides better quality than those famous video editors! However I can't promise that 64-bit version of PicturesToExe will come soon, sorry. Just because we have too much old code written many years ago. All I can say that we spend 20% of our time to rewrite old code to make it cross-platform (for future Mac version) and also it will open way for 64-bit version. Our more nearest plans are to optimize memory usage that will help a little in that situation with "Out of memory" problem. Also probably you noticed another topic on the forum for same problem ("Out of memory") in executable shows. But indeed this problem should not occur there. I'm sure these shows don't exceed 2Gb limit of memory and a reason of that problem is different. I have a guess that this problem and yours are linked. Once we solve one problem, it should help for another problem, too. P.S. Sorry for my complicated explanations, my English is not perfect yet.
