Basically when you insert video clips to a show in PicturesToExe Deluxe 7.0 you have two choices: 1. Play normally the audio track of a video clip. 2. Mute the audio track of a video clip. However there is an undocumented way to edit audio tracks of video clips directly in PicturesToExe: adjust the start time, the duration, fade in/out, use the Envelope tool. Briefly: add a video file as a background music or sound comment. Tutorial 1. Add a video clip to the slide list. For example: "myvideo.avi" 2. Open the Objects and animation editor, switch to the Properties tab and set checked "Mute audio" option. 3. Click the "Add Sound or Voice" button on the top toolbar (for a slide with this video clip). 4. The Open file dialog window will appear. Browse a folder where is located your video clip file. 5. You don't see your video files here. We need a trick. Type manually the filename of your video file. For example, in my case it was myvideo.avi Also you can enter a full file path. For example: C:\Videos\myvideo.avi Full file path to a video clip can be copied from the Objects and animation editor, Properties tab for a Video clip object. 6. The program will accept this video file and will extract the audio track from this video file as a sound comment. 7. Immediatelly you will see the Audio clip properties window where you can adjust and edit this audio clip. You can open this window later through the "Add Sound or Voice" button > "Customize" window. The alternative approach You can add the audio track of a video clip as a background music. 1. Open the Project options window. 2. Switch to the Music tab and click the "Add music" button. 3. Repeat steps 4-5 in the first tutorial above. 4. Adjust the audio clip via "Customize" button and use Envelope tool. Notes It's a reliable solution which will work in current version and all future releases of PicturesToExe. This method provides exact synchronization and correct rewinding. If you insert a video clip as an object in the Objects and animation editor with time offset (delay), you need to add a time offset to a audio file according the time position of this video clip on a slide. We hope to improve access to editing of audio track in video clips in the next version 7.5.

Hello Robert, Sorry, it was my fault. I sorted a list of moderators and I mistakenly deleted your account. I just recovered your account. Please see PM message for 'Moosewood'. Same problem with theDom account. I also recovered it. The only problem with date of registration. I can't restore it. I'll try again later.

Thanks, I confirms two problems: 1. Rewinding back to the first slide. I'm not sure that it's a bug. The program sets a cursor to zero (0 ms) to be able watch a show from beginning. 2. When Right arrow key doesn't work and you need to press it twice to advance next slide. I can reproduce this bug only when Navigation bar is turned off.
-
Thanks for the feedback! Regrettably I can't reproduce this problem. I'll try again later on other PC. I downloaded attached project and start the preview. I immediatelly press Space button to pause the show. If I press Left arrow key once or several times I see only blue picture (beginning of the 1st slide). When I press Right arrow key I see 2nd slide and so on. Everything is OK.

Thanks. P.S. With the new timeline with visual multi-tracks the new PicturesToExe becomes look as a professional audio editor! It so nice to be able visually adjust audio clips and move them on the timeline. And all editing operations are lossless with undo/redo. Pictures of slides on the track above help adjust time points. A little patience, waiting is almost over

We fixed a similar problem with jerky playback of video clips in a slideshow burned to DVD disc. This problem has been solved since version 7.0.6.

Does anybody tried to launch slideshows on OSX 10.8 Montain Lion?

Intel GMA HD 3000 is a slow video card. I can't recommend this variant. But you can try the following demos and slideshows created in PicturesToExe on that laptop: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/slideshows/TheDom-Smile.zip http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/slideshows/Presenting-PicturesToExe.zip http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/slideshows/PicturesToExe-Demo.zip It will help you make the decision.

Here is an updated version 7.0.7 Beta: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/test/picturestoexe-setup.exe (My colleague, Artem has corrected this problem)
-
Peter, Thanks, we'll fix the bug which you discovered.
-
Xaver, Many thanks for the link to this article!
-
Peter, Many thanks! We fixed this problem. Here is a new version 7.0.7 Beta: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/test/picturestoexe-setup-707-beta.exe It contains only this change in comparison with previous version 7.0.6.
-
Peter, Please send me source files of this project. The project file before the change, and the project file after the change.
-
Peter, In future version 7.5 we completely reworked "borders" for Image and Video clip objects. However in the first public beta version we will additionally improve it again.
-
Please wait for version 7.5. Timeline will display each audio audio file, and you can move or edit it.
-
Barry, Lightbox is back in v7.5. New timeline also will be available in fullscreen mode (with audio tracks).
-
Marcel, I pondered this mode. Probably it should not be an entirely fullscreen mode? We can keep visible the top toolbar and the bottom toolbar. Also the new timeline in v7.5 also will be available in the fullscreen mode.

WINE doesn't provide full emulation and it causes problems. Regrettably we can't guarantee work of PicturesToExe in WHINE. You need to use VirtualBox + Windows on Linux.
