  1. Steven, I have posted - it needs more people from here to register and post. I do this regularly at Nikon Cafe but I find that my posts are overwhelmed by those of the PSG fans over there. DG
  2. Hi Gary, I was trying to be brief. This is the way I have always thought of it: With the "Slides" Tab selected you are "viewing" the Slide List in isolation.(Settings / Slide List). You drag and drop images from the Files List into the Slides List. With the "Timeline" Tab selected you are "viewing" the Slides List in relation to the Audio Files in their Audio Tracks. My point was that whether you are in the Slides "View" or the Timeline "View", when you drag and drop from the File List you are dropping them into the Slides List. The fact that you are in Timeline "View" when you do it does not alter the fact that Images / Files are dragged into the Slide List. In the Timeline "View" (New Project) there are Greyed-out messages telling you where to drag the individual components. If you try to drag an image file into the wrong section nothing happens. Likewise, you cannot drag an audio clip into the Slides List. There are a lot of people reading posts who never participate but just want to get information on how to use PTE. Many do not use English as a first language. The more precise we who use the forum are the better will be their understanding of how this great programme works. You make some very valid points above, but the likelihood of Igor picking them up in the middle of all this is remote. Why not briefly and precisely mention them in the "suggestions" thread? That's a question./> Best wishes, DG
  3. Gary, You don't drag and drop images into the timeline. You drag and drop images into the slide list in Timeline View? DG
  4. Gary, New Project. Empty Slide list in Timeline view. Drag and drop first image. Starts at zero - ends at default time - Correct. I drag second image and drop it in the slide List at precisely 6 seconds - first slide duration changes to 6 seconds - Correct. Second slide duration is default - Correct. Drag third image in and drop it at precisely 14 seconds - second image duration changes to 8 seconds - Correct. Third slide duration is default. I could go on? DG
  5. As Lin said they are NOT random. They land where you drop 'em. DG
  6. It's all this dragging and dropping that's causing the problems!!:)/> In the file list select your images to add to the project. Whether in Slide View or Timeline: Right click on a file and "Add Selected Images". Slide View for Images Timeline for Audio Write it on a "Post-It" and stick it on the Monitor.:)/> Happy New Year!! DG
  7. I have never seen Main Images "un-embolden" themselves but if Peter has seen that behaviour then obviously you have confirmation of some sort of problem. It's not something that really worries me - it's not part of my workflow, most of my images being introduced via O&A - but now that you have mentioned it, I'll look out for it. DG
  8. John, I'm not getting that. I suggest that you start a new project from scratch and see what happens then? DG
  9. John, What are your Project Options regarding Aspect Ratio and Resolution. I will try to duplicate it on my iPad 4. DG
  10. I think that the previous reply might have suggested that images inserted into slides via O&A are not Bold because they are not Main Images? One way to address this is to put images used in O&A in a Sub-Folder to your Project Folder. That way, they are not seen in the main Folder and the Bold or Normal Text is not an issue. DG
  11. Hi Terry, It might help others in future to know just how your video-builder was set up wrongly? DG
  12. Hi Terry, Try this: DG
  13. My standard "first line of defense" reply for anyone with DVD Problems is as follows. In the last page of the Video Builder process is a page which has 4 options. I think that only one of these options needs to be ticked. Create MPEG2 Create DVD Folders Create ISO Image Burn DVD Disc Untick all options other than Create ISO Image and continue. Make sure that the location of the ISO image is known to you in advance - preferably on a drive other than C drive. When the ISO is completed you should be able to right click on it and choose to open in the LATEST version of Media Player Classic - Home Cinema. If this is successful then it suggests that your problem is something other than PTE - DVD Burner, Quality of Discs, DVD Player, System issues etc Another option: Try burning a successfully made ISO file in another software such as Roxio etc. If your TV is equipped with USB input and Media Player create an MP4 File and play that via the USB input. If successful, this also suggests that the problem is not PTE. DG
  14. You can delete a Style from the Slide Styles Window. Tools / Delete. DG
  15. Which iPad - there are versions for different iPads. Your Project needs to be 4:3, the AR of the iPAD if you want to utilise all of the screen. I have made many for the iPAD Retina using the PTE default and 1080 high; 16:9 and 4:3 play very well with no overlaps. Fixed Size of Slide in Project Options / Screen is OFF. DG
  16. I came acroos the N650U problem years ago when I first bought my Sony Vista Laptop (still going strong). After several days of trying I gave up and left the scanner connected to my XP Media Centre Music PC. If there is a way of installing the software on W7 or Vista it would be great but I am not going to spend time exploring that when it is working very well on the XP M/c. It is too good a scanner to throw away when it is still working. DG
  17. The question that comes to mind is "Why now?". The Offset Value for an Audio Clip in Single Track / Multiple Clip has always been this way. Why, suddenly, should it change? If each track is considered in its own right then this "feature" makes sense. When adding a second Audio Clip to an existing track it is added to the end of the previous clip with zero offset with respect to the previous clip. Adding a positive offest creates a gap of "silence" and adding a negative offset creates a crossfade. The value of the negative offset is the "duration" of the Crossfade. What could be simpler? DG P.S. In your example (bearing in mind the Crossfade feature) wouldn't the previous clip fade out during the "Silent Offset" of the following clip?
  18. If you look at the "rules" for Single Track/Multiple Audio Clip, doesn't your example follow those rules? If you add two clips to the same track in Project Options (PO)/ Audio then the second track's offset is relative to the first track's end (zero). Dragging a clip from the File List gives the exact same result (as your example). It is possible to introduce a negative offset and crossfade this way. So, dragging a clip from one track into another should obey the same "rules" as adding a Clip via PO? DG
  19. A series of 1920x1080 (16:9) Custom Transitions (CT's) which can be used as presented or as the basis of your own CT's. Simply Load any of the CT's and edit in the CT Editor. The Default PTE CT animation can be changed to your own without having to construct the basic splitting of Slide 1 and Slide 2 into 2, 4, 16 or 64 sections. 20. Thanks Igor for the explanation. I am still of the opinion that this could cause disastrous results if someone were to first set 16:9 in the Main Tab and then accidentally change the preset 1920x1080 to 1280x716. DG
  21. If you set any of the following resolutions in the SCREEN TAB of Project Options (accidentally or otherwise) the MAIN TAB will still show a 16:9 Aspect Ratio. 1920x1076 1920x1077 1920x1078 1920x1079 1920x1081 1920x1082 1920x1083 1920x1084 At 1920 wide the ONLY resolution which should show a 16:9 AR is 1920x1080. All other resolution settings should show CUSTOM. DG
  22. Barry, If it were JUST adverts I would be happy, but sometimes it is the NATURE of the adverts. Also, if you click on a wrong link (easy to do), you are downloading something other than what you intended. You also have hidden adverts which don't show until you close other windows. I don't like it - never have - never will. DropBox gives me more than I need with NO adverts. DG
  23. Gary, Go to the screen page and enter a resolution which fit one of the presets e.g. 1920x1080. However that doesn't answer the "greyed out" problem. Show us the SCREEN option? DG
  24. Jose, Have you tried: Open Old Project - copy slide. Open New Project - Paste Slide It works between V7.5.10 and V8. DG
