My Favorite Software for Daily Use and Why....
JudyKay replied to Lin Evans's topic in Equipment & Software
Thanks for the great List. What about good scanner software? I use Silverfast, only because I know of nothing better. It is OK, but could be MUCH better. -
New Tutorial on Removing Sharpening Halos With Photoshop
JudyKay replied to Lin Evans's topic in Tutorials & Video Lessons
Thanks, Lin. I appreciate how you contribute ideas and skill with lasting value here. You are confident and humble and skillful and have a heart to help. Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving! -
Some slideshows seem to have comments enabled but Reviews is not. Some have both enabled. Some have none. I am not senile. I even took an online test to make sure.

We used to sit at the drive-in theater making out in old cars. Is that what you mean? Then my best friend got a little red sports car convertible. I think it was a Triumph. Weeeee! That was fun! It zipped and purred and so did we! I bet PTE 9 will zip and purr too.

It's down for the count. Defibrillator?

Lin, you are amazing! (But your desktop is messy!)

Audio on my Dell desktop behaved all wrongly after I installed Win10. I had to update Realtek Audio drivers and manager after the Win10 upgrade. Realtek did some scrambling with several updates over a few days, and it worked.

Makes me think of Yogi Berra: "You can observe a lot by just watching."

Thanks for sharing that. I never learned to play banjo, but play mediocre to tolerable guitar. I wasn't a "natural," and sure wished I could learn as fast as that video! Like learning a foreign language--learn young! A friend and I used to play our guitars together and I loved the incredible surround sound as we played different parts. Then I met a forest ranger who played banjo. I never played with him, but another friend did and their sound together was magical. Years later my daughter played so-so violin with an accomplished Jewish pianist in performances and hearing them play together was almost heaven!

Good Grief. I want one of those! I love candid people pictures but am too bashful about getting in people's faces. My 70-200 2.8 feels and looks like a full sized ship cannon on the street. That bunny picture sells me! Now i just need to save a few thousand pennies.

I appreciate the idea and think it is well implemented. Barry, you did a spectacular job as with everything you produce. Experienced users also have provided good input and I think Help links to a library of select, quality projects is a great idea.

Great idea--well done.

Color management is clearer to me than it has ever been. I appreciate your time and effort to present so well.

Exactly. Umas, I appreciate what you are saying and probably you have a keener eye for the future than I have. That is why we need to share ideas together like this. Thanks for helping us think ahead, and I know Igor will as well.

I am probably putting out crumbs to bring crows picking an attack, but I suspect that other than printing, all the fuss about perfect colors is largely bunk. Obviously, they can be off far enough to matter, but the post-processing done by our brain producing what we actually "see" has a whole lot more latitude than a difference of say R 50 vs R 55. Right or wrong? Having said that I worry about it anyway.

Crop Factor VS Full Frame dSLR - when, why and how...
JudyKay replied to Lin Evans's topic in Equipment & Software
Good job Lin. Thanks. One other factor to toss in regarding FF vs CF sensors is the speed of writing data to the CF card. Shooting wildlife this might matter when a FF maxes out at 4-6 fps (Except the newer 1D's) and a CF sensor provides maybe 8 fps. I get in far away places doing street photography where that matters...maybe. I sure wouldn't be out there with a 1DX--not that I have one. -
He seems to have been active on youtube within the last 10 months, but his old website seems completely down. It was updated as recently as Dec 18, 2014.

I want to be able to sync some Lightroom Mobile collections, but not all collections, to specific IOS devices. I am using 2 iPhones and 2 iPads. Other than syncing to separate catalogs, is this possible? Example: I want iPad#1 to sync to a PC-based Lightroom Mobile Collection called iPad#1. I want iPhone#1 to sync to a PC-based Lightroom Mobile Collection called iPhone#1. I don't want the iPad#1 collection to sync to the iPhone#1 phone or vice versa. Is there a way to sync a specific collection only to a specific device? I can't seem to find an answer and hope someone here knows. I hope it's not too confusing. Thanks.

I fiddled with it, thought it was a good idea, but never actually used it.

Thanks, Lin.

BHPhoto is very reputable. They were offering $20 USD cheaper than Adobe, thanks to Scott Kelby, for a few days and I bet a huge number of people snatched it up, but that special is over now. May as well buy from Adobe now.

I hope this is OK to post here. If not I apologize, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1109799-REG/adobe_65259143_creative_cloud_photography_plan.html

Forgive you Dave? Never! You helped me and I am very grateful. Sadly, it seems like I used to know to use th arrow key. Now I do again. Please drop my dumb tab-key idea.
