The most likely, on your old iMac you had an option to simulate Right click on touchpad or Magic Mouse in the System Preferences. See the attached screenshot. Both versions of PTE AV Studio - 10.5 and 11.0 work the same way. Traditionally Mac computers have only single Left click. Right click is emulated with Control + Click and as Windows users we forgot about this strange behaviour of Mac computers with touchpad and Magic Mouse. We plan to fix it in future update 11.0.2.

Denis, Thanks, I couldn't reproduce this problem, I'll try again today later.

Denis, you're right. I checked saving of TIFF images in GIMP. The problem with BigTIFF files in PTE 11. BigTIFF is an unofficial extension of TIFF format which introduced 64-bit offsets to be able save images larger than 4GB. We use FFmpeg library 4.4 to decode TIFF images and this version doesn't support BigTIFF format. Earlier we used FFmpeg 4.1.1. For some reason they dropped support of BigTIFF format. We need to think how to solve this issue.
-
Denis, thanks, I'll read more info on BigTIFF.

Tom, TIFFs with a JPEG compression also didn't work in previous v10.5, too. Current code doesn't support this format.

Hi Tom, Thank you for sharing these results and testing PTE 11 on different computers! It's interesting that for video encoding using CPU Mac Mini with Apple M1 chip works with the same performance as AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (8 cores, 105W). When I encoded video on our Mac Mini M1 I noticed that it stayed cool and noiseless even after long time of video encoding. Excellent power efficiency. If you use a HW option for video encoding, I would recommend to use High quality preset in PTE AV Studio for better visual results, not Medium preset.

.pte files opening in wrong version from Explorer [Solved]
Igor replied to jkb's topic in Troubleshooting
This issue sometimes randomly occurs in Windows when two apps or more were assigned to open some file extension (documents, videos). I guess it happens if one app sets file association in the installation mode (when the app has higher privileges) and when user manually changes a file association manually from Windows Explorer. I don't know why it works so strange in Windows. I observed this issue many times in the past with other apps. -
.pte files opening in wrong version from Explorer [Solved]
Igor replied to jkb's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi Jill, I think it's some fault in Windows Registry settings. Not in PTE AV Studio. Try the following: Reinstall manually PTE 11.0.1 with a ticked option "Associate .pte files...". Restart Windows. If it doesn't help, repeat steps from a tutorial below to fix this issue: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/change-fix-broken-file-type-associations-windows-7/ P.S. Windows Explorer shows a date of when a particular version of PTE AV Studio was built (compiled), not a date when it was installed on a computer. -
Honestly, I cannot understand why this TIFF file cannot be loaded in V11. In Photoshop I've saved a series of TIFF images with different options: no compression, ZIP compression, LZW compression (with one layer, or several layers), IBM format or Macintosh format. All created TIFF images were shown correctly in PTE 11. The only known issue with TIFF with JPEG compression - this format is not supported in V10 or V11.
-
Gary, thanks for the sample TIFF file. I see this problem. In V11 we updated video/graphics encoders/decoders for TIFF. And it seems that the problem occured with certain TIFF images. TIFF container offers several options for a compression (JPEG, LZW, ZIP, etc).

I recommend to install the new update 11.0.1, released today.

PTE AV Studio 11.0.1 is available for PC and Mac Download: https://www.wnsoft.com/pte-av-studio/download/ Or use Auto Update feature: Main menu > Help > Check for Free Updates (Windows only) Updated Korean translation for version 11.0. Fixed problem with wrong transitions randomly chosen in the Project Options > Transitions tab. Fixed problem with a smoothness of interlaced video clips in Auto mode of Deinterlacing option. Fixed visual problem in a Displacement Map effect when a non-sRGB color profile for a monitor is chosen in the Preferences. Note about the Mac version: Auto Update in will not download the new version due to a problem with macOS Ventura, so we had to temporarily disable it. You need to download the new version from WnSoft website manually and install it. Auto Update should work correctly again for future updates when you install 11.0.1 manually.

Hi Gary, Can you send me one sample TIFF file? 2. Windows or Mac version?
-
Probably you have activated Auto Save project file option? In the Preferences > Project.
-
We discovered that the problem occurs on reading of certain image file: "Schermafbeelding 2022-12-02 om 10.33 copy.webp" We'll check the Mac code to understand why it happens.
-
Thanks, Bruno, for the detailed explanation how it works.
-
Thanks for the details. I could reproduce this freezing during video encoding of your project in our iMac. We'll check the code tomorrow. Does this problem occur with only one project? Can you encode video for other projects?
-
Sorry, I'm not sure that I rightly understood your question and described problem. I checked the code. On every Save Project command, PTE AV Studio performs the following simple steps: 1. An old .bak file is being deleted (if existed). 2. Existing ProjectName.pte file is being renamed to ProjectName.pte.bak 3. Saving a new ProjectName.pte file. P.S. Note that user shouldn't rewrite .pte.bak file directly (by replacing .bak file manually), it breaks steps described above.

Hi, We cannot reproduce this issue yet. Can you try to reproduce this problem in a folder where only 5..10 images and videos. If the problem will occur again, please send me a list of file names in this folder. I think that it's somehow related with certain file names/order. And also let me know sorting order in the File Panel (if you changed it).

John, 440 vector icons included in version 11.0 are based on symbols from Webdings and Wingdings fonts (available in any version of Windows and macOS). You can use more symbols from Wingdings 2 and Wingdings 3 fonts manually by adding a text object. It will work only on Windows version of PTE AV Studio.
-
John, You need to uninstall PTE AV Studio 11 Beta. And then install PTE AV Studio 11 from WnSoft website: https://www.wnsoft.com/en/pte-av-studio/download/
