  1. Laszlo, I'm afraid we can't do more with the old code of VideoBuilder. Later we plan to completely rewrite DVD output and add new features.
  2. Denis, Please try the updated test version: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/test/picturestoexe-setup-807-beta.exe
  3. Laszlo, Wideangle, Please try the new test version: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/test/picturestoexe-setup-807-beta.exe If everything is OK, I'll publish it later as official v8.0.7 with other improvements.
  4. Hello Laszlo, I confirm this problem. I see it only with NTSC (4:3 / 16:9) and PAL 16:9. PAL 4:3 seems to be OK. We'll try to fix this problem soon. Thank you!
  5. I'm glad that your resolved this problem! If it possible, please send me the previous version of your project with that problem. All files (.pte project + images + audio files). I'll check up again. (Send me a personal message through the forum with a link to a ZIP archive.)
  6. Please tell me how to reproduce this problem? By default the DVD menu already add shadow to all objects (thumbnails, title, etc)
  7. greyspider, Please send me a .pte project file. I'll check it.
  8. Vincent, Please tell me in more details how to reproduce this problem? For example, I have Deluxe key and PicturesToExe works in Deluxe edition. In Preferences I switch to Essentials and restart PicturesToExe. Then the caption of the main window shows "PicturesToExe Essentials" and Project options doesn't show some options specific for the Deluxe edition. In Preferences I switch back to Deluxe edition and restart the program. Now I see all Deluxe features. If I have PicturesToExe in Essentials mode and I enter the Deluxe key, the program automatically switches to the Deluxe mode.
  9. Thanks for your replies!
  10. Hi, I'd like to start this new poll to compare with previous poll. Please reply on one question how often you burn DVD or create ISO images in PicturesToExe?
  11. Cedric, Thanks for the file! Media Player Classic HomeCinema shows 96kbps for this file and it plays fine in PicturesToExe as I quickly tested. Here is a test project: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27544810/temp/Project1.exe
  12. I recommend to set "Sharper/smoother" at -100 as it being offered by default. Yes, I understand that it sounds not-intuitive, and probably we'll rework this parameter in the next version. Set "Sharper/smoother" to 0 when you have animation and you observe shimmering/moire problem. "Sharper/smoother" parameter doesn't affect to performance even on old video cards. Another parameter - "Blur" - affects to performance and should be used when it really necessary.
  13. Hi Vincent, I confirm this problem. We'll try to fix this problem. I'll write later after checking.
  14. Hi Denis, I confirm this bug. Thank you! We'll try to fix it and publish an updated version 8.0. As a temporary solution, please replace a linked audio file in the Slide options window. Or use a command "Audio Comment" -> "Replace Audio File" in the popup menu of a slide.
  15. The next version 9.0 will work only on PC. I think that PicturesToExe 10 will be available for Mac. We'll try.
  16. Cedric, In future we plan to replace our existing MP3 decoder and probably the new decoder will accept MP3 files with non-standard audio bitrate. Please send me a link to a sample MP3 file at102kbps I'll check up. Probably we'll fix it for next version.
  17. MUR, Bezier curves for animation will appear in future version(s) of PicturesToExe.
  18. Geoff, Sorry, I missed your question. The most likely the upgrade to v8.5 will be paid. It will depend on a number of new features. We'll announce this information together with the first beta version in November-December.
  19. Gary, I understand your point of view. I honestly tried to reply on all topics here, but it's hard to do and requires significant time. When we plan to add a new feature, we need to think how it can be implemented? Can we write the required code for that feature? How much time it will take? How it will work together with other existing and scheduled features? In most cases, we discuss a new possible feature many times (during several iterations) from several days up to several years. If I'll reply on suggestions every days, I will bother our team too often when they work on other features. I assure you, I read this section of the forum very often and read it again and again including all posts. And finally, we are not able to implement all suggestions. Sorry. That's reality.
  20. Well, I'll return this option.
  21. Probably other users will ask to keep this option. Let's wait for the beta-testing.
  22. I extracted a discussion about fixed size of a slide into a new topic here
  23. Please look on this illustration. It illustrates the problem of displaying shows with "Fixed size of slide" option on UltraHD (4K) displays:
  24. I'm in a difficult situation. Users ask me make PTE more simple and intuitive in use. On other hand, I can't remove some old and strange options which may confuse users. How I can improve PTE in this situation?
  25. Dave, jt, Please try to understand, the fixed size of a slide in a fullscreen mode is really bad option. Earlier or late, it would lead to wrong results. Ultra HD displays (4K) are coming and visual size of a slide would be very small on such displays. If you want to avoid upscaling on your particular display, prepare images according screen resolution of your display. 1920x1080 images for a display 1920x1080. Think about people who will run your EXE file on displays with different screen resolutions. I think it's better to add high quality images (at least 1920x1080). Down-sampling works enough good in PicturesToExe. You can even enable "Unsharp mask" for your project. I compared result with Photoshop - and PicturesToExe gives very good picture. In possible future player of PicturesToExe's slideshows we can add various options how to display a slide (fullscreen, windowed, fixed size), but fixed size is dangerous for EXE output where users can't change it.
