Complete interface change - Time Line
Igor replied to Barry Beckham's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
Barry, Please add a scheme / sketch for your first idea. -
Thanks, Gary! I also love to visit famous cathedrals when I travel in Europe. P.S. If I may suggest the correct name would be "Russian onion domes" -> "Русские луковичные купола". More about "onion domes": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onion_dome

Hi, Please try the advice suggested above. PicturesToExe 8 does not require the Internet connection.
-
The new version will be published at the end of year, as usual. Beta version will be available in 2-3 months. Probably 64-bit PC version will be ready together with Mac version (when it's ready), because they use common code.
-
Of course, if a slide includes a lot of very large images, we can't do anything with it. Images consumes system/video memory.

Future version 8.5 will bring significant improvement for AV authors who create heavy animation with a lot of keyframes. For example, I compared a work of Rubik demo by Jean-Cyprien in v8.0 and future v8.5. Size of .pte project file is 14 MB (509'343 lines). 1. Time to load the project. Almost in 2x faster in v8.5 than in v8.0 2. Memory usage. v8.0 - 640 MB of system memory. New v8.5 - 353 MB. Almost in 2x less memory usage. That's not all, due to the new architecture of keyframes the final version 8.5 will consume even less system memory. Memory usage was reduced after deep optimization of work with .pte project in memory.

Hi, Please try the new graphical theme on Slideshowclub.com website. At the bottom of any page click "Change Theme" and then choose "Animate". Do you like the new "dark" style? Both themes can be available for users. I can assign one of them as default theme. ________

Hi Patricia, Thank you for this information!
-
Thanks for your suggestions! New O&A editor will allow to select what parameters you would like to assign/interpolate at a keyframe (Pan, Zoom, Rotate, opacity, etc).
-
Simply imagine how complex the task is - the new timeline in the O&A editor will able to display multiple objects (keyframes) with drag'n'drop and editing. How to fit waveform in a small screen space? No doubts, it's useful function, and we will improve O&A editor step by step. The new O&A editor will ease creating of complex animation. We'll add new tools and features and together we found a way to simplify the user interface. Patience, please
-
This function already exists in 8.0. See Tools menu -> Change slide duration.
-
Thanks for your comments! We don't plan to display audio waveforms in the timeline of the O&A editor in future version. it will be implemented later. 1. How user should activate a display of keyframes for several objects in the timeline? 2. Should we implement displaying of Animation tab (Pan/Zoom/Rotate, etc) if user selects several keyframes? a. Several keyframes within ONE object? b. Several keyframes for SEVERAL objects? Please think carefully. P.S. Please keep the subject of this topic. We discuss here questions related with the timeline in the O&A editor.
-
1. What you expect from the timeline window in the Objects and animation editor? 2. Displaying of keyframes for several objects on separate tracks? 3. Editing of properties for several keyframes at once? (Pan/Zoom, Opacity, etc).

Mick, Thanks for this information! We'll contact to developers of our DVD SDK library to solve this problem.
-
Barry, Thanks for the test file. I confirm this problem. I'll think what we can do.
-
Thanks, I'll take pause to think.
-
Dave, If your keyframes located exactly at points A, B, C or D - your task can be realized, of course.

Hi, In current version 8.0 there are two modes of keyframes: 1. Absolute time positions and linked keyframes (since v5.0). 2. New mode - time positions of keyframes in percentage (since v8.0) (The corresponding option "Scale keyframes in objects..." is located in the Slide options window.) There was an interesting discussion in Durations and Keyframes topic during beta testing of PTE 8.0. Please read this post there: We have the suggestion for future version: 1. Remove the old mode (absolute time positions of keyframes). 2. Remove "Scale keyframes in objects..." option from Slide options. 3. All keyframes use A-D (full slide duration) or B-C scaling (range between two transition effects). A-D or B-C scaling can be choosed individually for each keyframe. What you think? Example: 1st and 4th keyframes have A-D scaling mode. 2nd and 3rd keyframes have B-C scaling mode. Now if we change slide duration, these keyframes always will be placed exactly to A/B/C/D points (beginning/end of transition effects).

Mick, 1. Please let me know the exact name of your DVD player (connected to TV)? 2. Do I understand rightly that in previous version 7.5 you could burn and show DVD discs with your TV and DVD player? 3. Please try the following alternate solution: - Untick all options on the last page of VideoBuilder and select only "Create DVD folders". - Use ImgBurn or other utility to burn DVD folder (VIDEO_TS folder) as DVD-Video disc. - Try to play this DVD on your TV. Thanks in advance!

(SOLVED) Cannot create video with version PTE 8.0.3
Igor replied to jeanclodo's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi, Regrettably it's known problem on some PCs. We solved it in future version (8.5) which will be published this autumn. Video output in PicturesToExe 8.5 is completely reworked. There are two temporal solutions for version 8.0.x: 1. Try to change encoding parameters. Choose 2-pass encoding, set manually bitrate (7000). 2. Create AVI video file instead of MP4 file.
